What is wellness?

Wellness is the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health outcomes, so that instead of just surviving, you're thriving.

The Importance of Wellness in the Workplace

Emotional Wellness

Emotion: No one likes to talk about this one especially in the workplace, but according to legal scholars Susan Bandes and Jessica Salerno:

“Emotion helps us screen, organize and prioritize the information that bombards us,” and “It influences what information we find salient, relevant, convincing or memorable.”

Without emotions we can not express ourselves nor can we recognize what others are feeling if we can’t “understand” what they are feeling.

Creating Balance

The need to stabilize our emotions or regulate our emotions is critical to healthy relationship dynamics. To create a healthy dynamic at work, employees need to feel safe and heard.

The Collab can provide help to support a healthy emotional wellbeing by offering our clients creative solutions to address the healthy regulation of the nervous system.

What is the definition of health/ wellness?

When we look at the eight dimensions of Wellness we can see that almost all of them are present in the work space. We can’t separate ourselves into two beings… one at work and one at home, that’s not how we function as humans. If we have stress at home it stays with us and comes to work and vice versa.

The Collab takes all of these dimensions into consideration when we look at what we can offer our clients to support their employees' overall wellness.
